A Day in East London

Exploring the East ….. Side of London that is!

Having lived in London for a few years, I realised there are areas of London I seldom visit. I decided to tick some of places off my ‘to explore’ list.

This weekend I decided to visit Broadway Market

They had an array of fresh, organic produce from bread stalls with artisan bread, carts filled any array of cheeses to fresh seafood. They even serve a range of foods from savoury to sweet. For those looking for something other than food, they have lots of arts and crafts and handmade products.

We bought a smoked haddock scotch egg, it was absolutely divine. It was an fantastic twist on the original scotch egg which was lighter than its traditional counterpart. The icing on the cake, the egg yolk was still running. 💯💯 highly recommend if you heading to Broadway Market.

We then decided to have a break with an injection of caffeine at l’eau a la Bouche. I opted for a flat white with almond milk. As a bit of a coffee snob, I can say the coffee here was tasty 👍👍

Continued the rest of the afternoon wandering around East London soaking in the artsy, creative dynamic of this part of London. Independent stores and boutiques popped up all over the place and a designer or chain not to be seen. It was a breathe of fresh air as I’ve found a city like London is covered with designer store or chain coffee shops and restaurant.
