How to keep cookies fresh, chewy and soft??

Here is a Gobbytraveller cooking tip… (not strictly a cooking tip)

I often bake big batches of cookies or buy a bag of freshly baked cookies from the local baker or the supermarket (because let’s face it, its always better to have more!). However, I find the challenge is eating them all before they go hard. Unfortunately, this is a challenge I fail at all too often.

Not one who likes to waste, here’s a handy trick on how to keep them fresh so you don’t have to throw out any delicious cookies ever again.

Place a slice of bread with the cookies in a jar or container. The moisture from the bread will be absorbed by the cookies, helping to preserve the freshness and keep them soft and chewy. Once the bread goes hard, replace it.

I find white bread is best because it’s flavours will not transfer to the cookies.

No more throwing out delicious cookies!

Enjoy!
